The Form-Based Codes Institute

In 2016, Lisa Wise was appointed Chairperson of the Form-Based Codes Institute (FBCI).

The mission of the FBCI is to advance the knowledge and use of, and development standards for form-based codes, which regulate land development by physical form rather than use type.

Lisa heads the board of form-based code thinkers and practitioners from across the U.S., including Marina Khoury, Mary Madden, Nancy Stroud, Carol Wyant, Joe Kohl, Jim Tischler, Geoff Ferell, Michael Hathorn, Charles Nash, Brandon Palanker, Sam Poole, Norman Garrick, Bob Gibbs, Charles Nash, Scott Polikov, Dan Parolek, Tony Perez, Mark Gillem and Steve Price.

The FBCI, established in 2005, is the leading code reform think tank and source of on-site and on-line courses and seminars. The FBCI also hosts an extensive library of sample form-based codes and research on innovative approaches to land use policy aimed at economic and social vibrancy, attractive design and environmental stewardship.
