City of grover beach, CA - housing element

LWC was hired by the City of Grover Beach to update the City’s Housing Element for the planning period from January 2007 to June 2014. The Public Review Draft Housing Element was presented to City Council in May 2009, was adopted in November 2009, and certified by the State Department of Housing and Community Development in December 2009.

A key component to the Housing Element Update was a public participation process conducted by LWC. The participation process was comprised of a series of public workshops. The results from the public participation process were incorporated into the goals, policies and programs for the update. LWC worked closely with City Staff to craft a Housing Element that complies with State law and is uniquely appropriate for Grover Beach. The Housing Element update includes a focus on preserving the City’s coastal character and promoting energy efficiency in new and existing housing stock.
