town of loomis, California - housing element Update

In 2008, the Town of Loomis retained Lisa Wise Consulting to update the Housing Element of the General Plan. Loomis is a small, semi-rural community located in rapidly urbanizing western Placer County in California’s Central Valley. Loomis maintains an active agricultural economy, rural roads, equestrian trails, a compact downtown “village,” and historic structures. 

LWC worked closely with the Town Council and Staff to develop programs and policies that reflect the unique attributes of Town and the specific needs of the community. The Housing Element addresses the housing needs of existing and future residents in a range of income categories. The Element identifies opportunities for the continued development of affordable housing through strategic density increases and the addition of secondary units on single-family lots. Additional programs promote Smart Growth principles, preservation of the Town’s character, and residential energy conservation.
