City of malibu, California - zoning Code and local implementation plan Update

Lisa Wise Consulting, Inc. was retained by the City of Malibu in the spring of 2011 to conduct a comprehensive citywide Zoning Code update. LWC is working closely with Staff to create an update that continues to protect and preserve Malibu’s coastal resources, and effectively implements the General Plan and Local Coastal Plan. Additionally, the new Zoning Code will be a streamlined, user-friendly, and internally consistent document.

The community engagement process for the Zoning Code update is structured to successfully involve the public in a meaningful and effective way. The project includes focused interviews with City Staff and regular users of the Code, including planning and administrative personnel, City Officials, members of the Zoning Ordinance Revisions and Code Enforcement Subcommittee, members of the Architects and Engineers Subcommittee, the Chamber of Commerce, other community groups and interested members of the public.
