City of tulare, California
- housing element Update
LWC was hired by the City of Tulare to update the City’s Housing Element for the planning period from 2007 to 2014. LWC worked closely with City Planning Staff, the Redevelopment Agency, and housing advocates to identify and incorporate housing solutions for a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to bringing the Housing Element into compliance with State law, the update served as an opportunity to align Housing Element policies with City-wide goals as stated in the other elements of the Tulare General Plan, adopted in 2008. The Housing Element aims to generate high quality housing opportunities for all segments of the community. It promotes higher density housing near services and transit, prioritizes infill development, and establishes programs for energy and water conservation.
The Housing Element was adopted by the City Council in March 2010, and certified by the State Department of Housing and Community Development in June 2010.
In addition to the Housing Element, LWC worked with the City of Tulare to complete the Downtown Visioning 2040 Plan.
