City of tulare, CA - downtown visioning, 2040

In September 2007, Lisa Wise Consulting, Inc., in partnership with Parallel Design Studios, was retained by the City of Tulare to develop a visioning plan for the City's downtown. The City wanted a plan that would take advantage of local opportunities, preserve community character, and build consensus for future goals.

During the process of creating the visioning plan, LWC lead three community workshops to solicit information from Tulare residents. This information was used to create conceptual plans of the downtown area. The workshops allowed Tulare residents a forum to identify concerns and hopes regarding the downtown area. The workshops also allowed residents to identify possible implementation strategies for realizing their vision.

Downtown Tulare Vision 2040 was completed in September 2008. The plan identifies distinct neighborhoods, provides design guideline suggestions, identifies circulation issues, suggests public amenities, and illustrates an action plan for implementing the downtown visioning ideas.

In addition to the Downtown Visioning 2040 Plan, LWC completed the City's 2007-2014 Housing Element.
